    Congratulations George and Laura

You know when family ends up fun and you really wish you had more time? Well I for one am glad that this is exactly how I feel as I get ready to leave LA. I can't believe the way some people just end up clicking and it's such a plus to know that you're relayed to overall good peeps.

    the plane

So I heard recently that if you wear sunglasses indoors, you are either blind or a douchebag. Hmm, I know that it does tend to sway me as well when I see that... It makes me think that somebody is too cool to be amongst social norms. As I sit on the airplane - somewhere in the middle in row 22, I see this dude sporting really bulky Oakleys. Not bad glasses at all, and at the price I'm sure you paid for them dude, they came with a case. It's so annoying to me when I think of people who somehow think they deserve or expect some kind of special treatment. Gotta love it when everybody and their mama is a pre-Madonna who acts like a celebrity that's being followed around by the paparazzi. This guy has literally called for the flight attendant about 3-5 times on a 3 hour flight that's 2 hours old. Um, get over yourself. Even funnier, he flipped them up to look at the sunny scenery.

    Football depression w/a highlight

I'm so used to having my nephews do very well at sports... At least one has gone UNDEFEATED for the entire season - but the KYF Pee Wee Broncos did indeed lose their last game. If there was one to lose, it was this one... but I've been spoiled, and it's a bummer nonetheless....

The Broncos did respond in the first round of the playoffs w/a hard fought victory, scoring the game-winning TD on their last possession... 2 more wins needed... Fight Hard and beware when you line up against this "little" guy.

Now for all of the sadness associated with my recent football woes. Austin's season is over, but not before fighting hard and earning respect. The 2nd year expansion team fought hard and went 7-2 but losing to a stacked team with a ginormous O and D line. I did see this huge #90 kid take a swing at a Falcon - and only get called for a personal foul. I saw 2 Broncos ejected for the remainder of a game as well as the next game for just a hair over the same infraction - collusion? I find myself feeling like a conspiracy theorist, until I hear the parents talking. I've witnessed the politics, ridiculous officiating -- as well as the complete opposite. Alas - I am sad that the Falcons' season is over, but at least I don't have to see the bad stuff...(as I'm trying to keep it positive)

    Season Lows
    1. Grown man yells at coach (on the same team), pulls his son, embarrasses him so badly he can't stop crying, but GETS what he wants!

    2. Star QB and S goes down with a broken leg

    3. Team gives up on a game

    I will miss seeing this

Texas: no comment, there is nothing positive to say except they won the game I went to

    Texans: breaking my heart

    Prayer Req

Di-Strength to get through work – the next 2 months will be difficult. I was in a really bad place, but this one was an improvement. Resorted to pray for it to be bearable. I’ve just been too busy to attend Sunday.

De- Char**e – she seems fairly receptive to my sharing about my faith. She’s been going through a lot, and it seems to be a good time to follow prompting from God. I know there’s a reason why she’s going through so much.
2 weeks in – I need to manage my stress better… and I’d like to have work be something other than it was last Spring. Trust that HE has it in control.

Hal- My shoulder hurts. Pray for healing – getting a little better. I feel like it happens to me a lot. I have so many things I want to get done before I leave. I want to improve myself. I think that I’m having self-esteem issues.

Han-There’s a guy in NYC that I’m corresponding w/via email. Feel like ourselves when we meet. Last Sunday I didn’t go to church b/c of a Shakespeare class – I went to check out a church that has artistic support. I’m thinking about attending their small group and make Christian friends that are artists. Approached by a person in that church to do a play.

    Pet-n/a

Ric- Grandmother: health concerns – pray that she heals from a fall. She’s about to be 90 years old! Everybody is stressed out b/c it’s really busy – we’re overwhelmed.

RD-Find time to go to Corpus Christi.

So-2 things: I was seriously looking for another job. I received emails in another account. I interviewed with FKM. I felt like he needed someone to vent to. 2-3 weeks ago, and through the recruiter would contact me. I received an “offer” but for less $ - it’d be nice to have, but I’m not too concerned.
    2. I have a problem being honest when some ppl. When they hurt me.

    Jer 38

Jeremiah ends up in a cistern for doing His work. Sure, he continued to give news that nobody wanted to hear, but burned with the words God wanted Jeremiah to say. Knowing this, will you (and I) still go forth?

    BUSY

Business - ever notice how it's so close to busy-ness???

I have so many stubborn projects!
all of the sudden - HDMI finds a duplexer as 2 monitors -- and of course that breaks hdcp = no blu-ray playback from media center pc.

SBS2008 - avoid if possible... migration is a nightmare (though exchange was easy).

    worst of all....

My professional and personal lives are ever intertwined, and that makes for busy-ness. I'm torn because the unfortunate opportunities life's dealt me leaves me with experience in areas I don't wish upon my enemies (at least sometimes). All in all, it makes me fail at some things, perhaps to build my character - but more likely just to break me down physically b/c I'm too dumb to recognize or stop.

Memories: why do they have to grow?

    Yes, Yes -

So incredibly unfair for me to desire my nephews to stay young, innocent, and cute... but they'll always be the apple of my eye!

    Matthew 16:14

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Mother's Day 2010; I had this overwhelming feeling that "I miss my mommy." It's hard because after all of these years it still hurts, and I can never really explain it - and I don't want anybody to understand. I was able to go about my "regular" days leading up to and following that day, but my head got the best of me on that day... I kept thinking that I wanted to be a better son...

I wondered in my head, how can I be a better son today? All week God reminded me by using children, and their heart towards their parents... It helped me to gauge myself and just how far from a child-like faith I live.  I've been watching the youth baseball games of my nephews - and intently watching them try their hardest.  Sure, they make 6-year old mistakes - but that doesn't amount to much more than sports... Instead, when a coach, normally a dad, let's it fly (usually only on their own son) - the child breaks down - crying on the field. They try so hard, I will venture to even say their very hardest to make their parents proud - and they're crushed when they feel like they've disappointed...

Then there's my life: I'm not exactly sure 100% of the time what God wants me to do, but there are certain things I know He wants me to do, certain things He doesn't want me to do, and a certain way He wants me to feel about it. I'm not as crushed as some of these kids at times. I walk right up to the line of sin, sometimes with every intention of breaking His law - and still scratch that itch or satisfy my flesh. What about afterwards? Is there any way for me to justify it? Who is my judge then? the world or God's standard.
